Birthday Treats

If your child would like to bring treats on his or her birthday, they must be prepackaged.  This could be purchased items from the grocery store or from the bakery, items must include the ingredients label.  If your child has a summer birthday, feel free to celebrate with treats at a time of your choosing.  Please send enough treats for 17 students and 2 adults.

If your child has a change in  his or her daily school routine please send a note, an e-mail or call the office.  Students are not allowed to just "tell me,"  they will need a note.  Parents can call the office, 676-3314 or e-mail, sallyabbe@schlewig.k12.ia.us

Thank You

Book Orders

Book order forms are sent home once a month for parents to order books from Scholastic.  Keep an eye on the due date, fill in the form and send it to school with payment.  I will send in the order for you, and send home the books as they are sent to me.

However, you can order the books online, they are still shipped to the school, and then go home with your child.  You will need the following link to order books on line, https://orders.scholastic.com/DX7X4

If you need to order books and want to keep it "confidential" for a gift, let me know and we can make arrangements.

Please do not send cash, make checks out to the book club, or make an on line payment.

How To Tie Shoes

Having trouble teaching your child how to tie their shoes?  This can be quite a task for kids, some get it, while others struggle and give up!  I stumbled across this video that can change the mind set of a kiddo or parent who is struggling with the task of tying shoes.

Check out this video link

Take Home Folder

Each student has a purple folder to take papers to and from school.  On the left hand side it reads “Left at home”, on the right hand side it reads “Right back to school”.  In the middle you will find the Monthly calendar with the “Word of the Day” at the bottom of each day and the day will be colored according to the behavior of the student.
